2. Legal basis and benchmark for accessibility
The accessibility requirements are based on the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and its implementing ordinance (BFSGV), which transposed Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act) into German law. The benchmark for assessing accessibility is the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 in conjunction with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.
In structure and content, this statement follows the model statement of Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523 and at the same time serves to fulfil the information obligations under § 14 BFSG.
3. Status of compliance with the requirements
This website is partially compliant with the requirements stated, on account of the incompatibilities listed below.
4. Non-accessible content
The content listed below is currently not fully accessible for the reasons stated:
4.1 Insufficient colour contrast of individual text elements
The section labels "Private preview" and "Origin Reflected" on light background areas of the home page have a contrast ratio that does not meet the requirements of WCAG 2.1, success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast, Minimum, at least 4.5:1 for normal text). Text with low contrast is difficult or impossible to read for people with visual impairments.
4.2 Non-sequential heading hierarchy
Heading elements are in places not arranged in a sequentially descending order (heading levels are skipped). This makes it harder for users of screen readers and other assistive technologies to orient themselves on the page (WCAG 2.1, success criterion 1.3.1, Info and Relationships).
4.3 Planned remedy
We are working on remedying the shortcomings named. The correction of the contrast values and of the heading structure is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
4.4 Note on the limits of automated testing
The assessment is based on an automated test (see section 5). Automated tests cannot detect every barrier. Individual aspects, in particular full operability by keyboard, the logical focus and tab order and the labelling of custom-built controls, require an additional manual review that has not yet been completed. Should you notice further barriers, we would welcome your feedback via the route described in section 6.
5. Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 10 August 2026. It is based on a self-assessment of the website using the automated testing tool Google Lighthouse (category "Accessibility", test of the home page, status: August 2026). Of the criteria that can be tested automatically, 24 were passed; two criteria (colour contrast, heading order) were not met and are listed in section 4.
The statement is reviewed and updated regularly, and at least whenever the website changes substantially. Last review: 10 August 2026.
